We’re super-excited about the launch of www.bagsinthecity.com.my, an online designer handbag rental service that's already famous all over the world! So what is it exactly? Remember renting videos in a video store? Well, it’s almost like that, except you’re renting designer handbags over the internet. All you have to do is shop online, select the handbag you want to rent, pay the rent with your credit card on a secure payment page and the bag will be delivered right to your doorstep! You can rent the item for as long as you want and the rent rises with every week you possess the bag; a rental fee will be deducted from your credit card until the bag is returned. If you love it so much and can’t part with it, you can buy the bag! Don’t worry about getting a fake-y, ‘cause all the bags are 100 percent certified authentic. So what are you waiting for, make those fingers work NOW!

| Unfashionably Facebook-ed! |

These days, having a Facebook account is like getting a pair of ankle booties or buying into the '80s revival; it's what any self-professed fashionista calls a trend worth signing up for. However, as with any trend, there's a right way and a wrong way to wear it. Unfortunately, as with any trend (I'm repeating myself for effect, here), most people have been getting it wrong. Today, I'm griping about one of the biggest Facebook No-Nos: Putting up a picture of someone without getting their permission first. I had it done to me sometime in mid-July; one very friendly lady whom I always meet at fashion events and never fails to say 'hello' had invited me and a couple of others to take a group photograph with her camera. I thought "oh well, this is quite harmless, and most people like taking snapshots of themselves and aquaintances at events for memories anyway". Little did I think that the picture would appear on her Facebook page the very next day, for all the world to see where I was, who I've been with, what I was wearing and looking very much like this lady and I are the best of friends! To each his own, I say, so other people can go ahead and Facebook every minute detail of their lives, but leave me out of the account please! I may have nothing to hide but I'm a private person; I don't need to see and be seen for social purposes and I certainly don't like people using pictures of me without my permission. A friend of mine also had such a rude encounter recently; her photograph appeared on another Facebook-happy party-goer's wall even after the culprit was clearly told NOT to paste the pictures online. I think it's just rude! I mean, it's wrong to publish unauthorised photographs of people in newspapers or magazines, so why is putting it up on Facebook any different? I know several Facebook-ers who pull off this trend (for that's what I think it is) with class, that it, without bombarding everyone on their email list with every insignificant detail of their lives, respecting personal boundaries and yet, keeping in touch with those who matter.

The next time you pop by Singapore, make sure you head to the newly-opened Sephora at new mall ION, just above the Orchard MRT. It’s massively decked out with more beauty products than you can ever think of, you’d have to spare a few hours checking out everything they have, literally!
10 reasons why I love the new Sephora:
1. There’s no better address to have the store at.
2. It’s bigger, better and more complete than the one at Ngee Ann City.
3. There’s a complete M.A.C counter at the left side of the entrance, and your usual selection of makeup brands inside.
4. The colourful collection of bath and body products make me happy just by looking at them!
5. It carries international cult brands such as Smashbox (which we now have!), i.d. bareMinerals and Burt’s Bees aside from Sephora’s in-house brand.
6. There’s a Beauty Bar where anyone can just stroll in for a quick doll-up sesh!
7. The store’s assistants won’t bug your personal time exploring the whole place, so you can take your time trying out that funky mascara or bold lipstick and painting your nails without anyone breathing down your neck!
8. A list of Top 10 Male and Female fragrances are updated frequently, so you know just what to look out for.
9. Sephora’s very own spa is in the works, and is opening very soon!
10. If you’re a beauty junkie, you’ll leave the store feeling euphoric and usually, clutching a shopping bag and with a smile on your face.
The new Sephora is located at ION Orchard, 2 Orchard Turn #01-05/06, Singapore 238801.

OMG! I’m super excited about theBalm’s arrival in Malaysia. The American brand has been around for a while but it’s just landed on our shores, all thanks to SaSa. I don’t usually carry makeup around, except for my trusty ol’ lipgloss, but the ones from theBalm are just too cute to be left on my vanity dresser! The packaging makes great conversation pieces, so whip one out the next time you’re on a ridiculously boring date. My favourites? BalmShelter Lip Gloss with SPF17 (it smells delish!) and Hot Mama (blush, shadow and highlighter, all in one!).

Have you seen common beauty ingredients like shea butter, sandalwood, soy and cinnamon in their purest forms? That was just what I witnessed on display during Pureology’s recent launch – yes, I got to see, touch and smell them raw! If you don’t already know, Pureology is an award-winning Californian brand that has been around since 2001 and focuses on caring for coloured hair. I say it’s about time they landed here! I have personally been using the shampoo, conditioner, serum and mask for nearly a month now, and I can safely say that they add that much-needed salon-touch to my coloured hair while giving it a lingering scent, thanks to the natural botanical extracts and aromatherapy essences.
Want to give Pureology a try? Call 03-7727 2214 to find out where you can get the goodies!
