Time for Wines

Thirty ICON Malaysia readers were treated to a wine appreciation dinner complimented by a delightful selection of rich reds and elegant whites at House Restaurant in G Tower.

The evening began with hors d’oeuvres at the cocktail reception, and followed by a four-course menu from the House Restaurant prepared by its renowned chef, Chef Wai. The highlight dish was the 16-hour slow cooked Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek.  All the dishes were perfectly paired with wines from New Zealand, Chile, Australia and Italy, and sponsored by Milawa.

Jonathan Chea, a knowledgeable wine professional from The Wine Zen enlightened our readers on wine and food pairing. The Wine Zen, conducts Wine Zen Fine Wine Courses© Series that made its official debut in Malaysia in 2011, to guide Malaysian consumers into the wonderful world of wine and fine dining.

Timepieces by Franck Muller, presented by Sincere Fine Watches, were introduced to the guests who got close-up with the Franck Muller Long Island, Infinity Reka, Master Square and Diamond Dial collections..

Excitement is always rife when there is a lucky draw session! Three lucky winners won a Private Preserve worth RM 178 per bottle sponsored by The Wine Zen, while one lucky winner took home a Voga Italian Moscato from Italy worth RM118 per bottle sponsored by Milawa.  The limelight was, of course, the Grand Prize — a Cava Segura Brut worth RM300 per bottle sponsored by House Restaurant — and won by a Mr Eugene..

Satiated with fine food and wine, all guests walked away with a limited edition coffee tumbler and a complimentary Hi Tea Set Voucher for 2 pax as well as an exquisite leather notebook from Franck Muller by Sincere Fine Watches, and an improved knowledge on wines!

ICON Malaysia treated 30 readers to a Wine Appreciation Dinner complimented by a refined carte fu jour of rich reds and elegant white at House Restaurant in G Tower.

The evening began with an hors d’oeuvres cocktail reception at 6:30pm, followed by a four-course menu from the House Restaurant’s renowned chef – Chef Wai, and the food, especially the 16-hour slow cooked Braised Wagyu Beef Cheek, were all perfectly paired with wines featured from New Zealand, Chile, Australia and Italy, sponsored by Milawa. The wine pairing and  tips was conducted by Mr Jonathan Chea, a knowledgeable wine professional from The Wine Zen.
